What We Can Do for Your Weekly Shop

From sourcing fruit at the market before sunrise to packing a phone order for delivery, the shop handles the daily work of keeping your kitchen stocked. Here is how we help.

What we mean by delivery, produce, and daily essentials

A few clarifications so there is no confusion when you call in an order or stop by the counter. These are the working definitions we use every day, and they shape how we pack your bags and stock the shelves.

Phone-order delivery area

Our delivery run covers the southern suburbs within a 6-kilometre radius of the shop. Orders placed before 10:30 am usually arrive the same afternoon, between 2 and 5 pm. We confirm the window when you call, so you are not waiting around all day. For elderly customers we can carry bags to the kitchen bench, not just leave them at the door.

What counts as “fresh-cut”

The fruit bowls and sandwiches are made to order from that morning’s stock. We do not keep pre-cut trays sitting in the fridge for days. If we are out of a particular melon or the bread order is late, we will say so and suggest a swap. The counter closes at 2:30 pm on school days, but the rest of the shop stays open as usual.

Seasonal stock and substitutions

Because we source from nearby markets, the range changes with the harvest. When you order a bag of oranges, we pick the variety that is ripe that week. If a specific item is not available, we will call before swapping it. You can always ask what arrived that morning — that is the point of shopping here, and we are happy to talk through what looks good.

Pantry staples and household basics

This covers the everyday items we keep on the shelves: flour, rice, tinned tomatoes, cooking oil, tea, coffee, plus dairy, bread, and cleaning bits. We do not stock every brand, but we carry the ones that sell well locally. If you need a specific size or a particular label, call ahead and we will check the shelf before you make the trip.

Ways to shop with us

Not everyone shops the same way, and that is fine. Whether you prefer to walk the aisles, call ahead, or grab something quick between school runs, there is a format that fits. Here is how each one works and what to expect.

In-store shopping

The shop floor changes with the harvest, so the best way to see what is fresh is to come in. Staff can tell you what arrived that morning and point you to the crates that are ready to eat today rather than later in the week.

  • Pantry staples, dairy, bread and household basics

Stock changes with the local harvest, so what is on the shelves this week may not be there next. If you are planning a meal around something specific, call ahead and we will tell you what came in. More about how we source produce.
